Asus K55VM SX086D Thermal Shutdown

Asus K55VM SX086D Thermal Shutdown

I've recently bought an Asus K55VM SX086D Laptop. Before buying I saw a few posts around various forums of overheating issues, but thought they were just a few manufacturing hiccups.
However I didn't get to use my laptop within 7 days of my purchase so I missed the DOA(Dead on Arrival) window to completely replace my laptop after personal inspection.
Now the problem is it overheats while playing games such as FarCry 3(at Customized setting in which it runs smoothly giving around 40-50FPS) and even on an old game Dead Rising 2! and shuts down after a few minutes of gaming (around 30-45 minutes).
At first I thought this is a nvidia driver issue I rechecked the driver version and it's the latest. I re-installed all the necessary drivers for CPU and other system utilities.
To track the heat generation I used GPU-Z logs and found out that after an unexpected shutdown the GPU temperature were around 85-90C which I know is not the throttle temperature and it's quite a normal range of thermal activity under high load.
Next I tried to underclock the CPU by setting the CPU Maximum Performance under the windows power management (under external power source) to 99% so that it doesn't switch on its turbo-boost and overclocks. But even then it overheated and shut down after half an hour of playing FarCry 3.
I tested with other games such as BioShock 2 Infinite, Darksiders II and Skyrim (ultra setting) with performance boosting mods such as ATTK and Hi-Algo and it DID NOT shut down even with extended hours of gaming!
My Palm Rest also heats up during gaming which it isn't supposed to because of it's Ice Cool Technology. I think it's a faulty manufacturing defect and cannot handle the CPU temperature.
I bought the laptop from a dealer in Kolkata and I have shifted to Chandigarh for my job purpose. Can I get it inspected and replace the motherboard or if necessary the laptop from an Asus dealer here?
